More Punk Than You:Hey Ivano, how are things going?

Ivano:OI!OI!OI! comrade droog,how are you?I'm very well!I come to my daily jogging and i'm very tired but in general it's allright!

Please make me a Cervelli Stanki presentation now that i know you've recently changed components?

We are a streetpunk&roll band formed in the 1993 at Albisola Marina,beach and pottery center in the north of Italy,west cost near Savona and Genova.In this 15 years we have released 3 studio album and 1 official live album:"Figli della klasse operaia"(Working class sons)in the 1997 for the english label Helen of oi!rec,"La volpe ed il cane"(The fox and the dog")in the 2003 and "Street rock n roll" in the 2006 for italian antifascist label Anfibio Rec and in this year the "Live for skins&punks" to italian label and distro The sound of OI!.In the last summer we have chaged 2 of 4 menmbers of the band:in the line up now are Mauro(ex Klasse Kriminale ) on the drum and Gio Droga MC AKA Porko,great punkrocker from Killdaddies band.

You have almost 15 years of activity. How were the things back then when you started and how do you see them now?

In the 1993,when we started with this adventure,we were young guys without money,without work and for our band was very hard to played gigs too far of Savona and without money the registration of our music was very amateurish!Now the situation for CERVELLI STANKI and for punk and OI! in Italy is good,we are renowed in our nation and in other country.Internet is a good help for the bands,for ther contact,interview,promotion,gig.The problem in Italy are the little collaboration with the bands and in the last year the great number of Naziskin in city like Milano,Torino,BresciaRoma ecc.It's a terrible problem.

After Street Rock'n'Roll are you preparing something new? The new material will still be released at Amfibio Records?

Yes with the new line up we have new songs and i think it will released in the next december,for a 7" split cd with other band(TOP SECRET now!!!!!) and in the 2008 i think it's will be ready new album of CERVELLI STANKI.At the moment,i don't now if it will be released of Anfibo rec.......

I know you are quite a film fan. What movies do you prefer ?

Yes,sure!We love film and they are a great influenced for our lirics!The first for our band is "A clock work orange",and my look on stage is like a droog!We love "1984","Fight club","The godfather" and many films of Takeshi Kitano and Abel Ferrara!we love mafia and martial arts movies!!!!

What bands have influenced Cervelli Stanki ? And what bands do you prefer?

In the first time we are influenced to punk rock band and 77 bands like Clash,Pistols,Ramones,Damned,Exploited,Angelic Upstarts,Partisans,Sham 69,Stiff Little Fingers,Anti Nowhere League and in a second time,about the our first demo tape "E fai a tutti del Male!",1995 ,we started to listen OI! band like Cock Sparrer,Cockney Rejets,Last Resort,4skins,Oppressed,Section 5 and their lirycs theme:working class,fottball,girls,to drink,against fascist police.Our influence about music are many,we love punk,oi!,rock n roll,hard rock,hc,reggae ,dub ,clockwork punk like The Adicts,Berurier Noir,Molodoi,italian band like Senza Sicura,Erode,Ghetto 84,american band like Lars Fredicksen,Rancid,heay rock n roll band like Turbonegro,Motorhead,Iron Maiden,The Stp...There are many things about our music that we like it!

You have sung with well-known oi/punk bands(Los Fastidios,Antinowhere League,Klasse Kriminale,Reazione,FFD) are some of them. With what band did you feel good?

Los Fastidios,Reazione,FFD are great band of friend because they are formed in our time,in the 1993 about.Marko and KK are good friend because they are of our city,Savona and we have played and wacth together many gigs .But the gig with Antinowhere League was the best for me because Animal&Co are my idols from when i'm enter in the magic punk rock world!!!!And another great gig was in the last january 2007 with THE CASUALTIES,in Brescia at Mag47,where we had played in front of about 2000 people.

Make me a short presentation of the italian punk scene (i must confess i'm a huge fan of it .. you have many great bands)

Yes,in Italy there are many great bands of punk,hc,oi,heavy rock n roll but the scenes are divided and there are not many squat,pub,place to play our music.For our experience,we had a great gigs in Germany and we think is great for a punk band to play in this nation.In Italy we love Klaxon,Senza Sicura,STP,but there's many great bands,youg and old!

What can you tell me about the message Cervelli Stanki is transmitting ?

In our lyrics we ask about our life,in the bad and good things!We are working class kids and we ask about problem of our works,politicians corrupted and parasites,our generation,police repression,against racism and fascism but our passion,movie,books,comics,girls,to drunk too!

Tell me what's your opinion about eastern europeanian bands,about the scene?

Well,i don't know the eastern european scene very well!I love the Zona A ,one of my favorite bands!Great band are The Bayonets,Derkovbois ,ritam Nerda,Ramsez & The Hooligans and we have played in Italy with the Analogs!Please if you want tell to me some bands that i don't know!
